The most sustainable office design is one that keeps people healthy, comfortable, and productive while using minimal energy to do so. In desert climates, that usually means working with traditional strategies—shade, thermal mass, natural ventilation—implemented through modern materials and systems.
Companies serious about environmental responsibility need to look beyond certifications and marketing opportunities. They need to understand how their buildings actually perform, how design decisions affect employee wellbeing, and how climate-appropriate strategies can deliver both environmental and economic benefits.
That Phoenix office is now being used as a model for their other southwest locations. Small changes, properly implemented, created measurable improvements in comfort, productivity, and environmental performance.
